Charles was walking through shallow water when he cut his foot on a shell explain, in terms of diffusion, why the cut looked much more serious in the water than if he had cut his foot on sand

The cut looked more serious in water than it would have on land because, by diffusion in water, blood spreads quickly, however, this does not happen, or will not happen on land.
