Answer:

x = 4, x = 8

Explanation:

Given

x² - 12x + 32 = 0 ( subtract 32 from both sides )

x² - 12x = - 32

To complete the square

add ( half the coefficient of the x- term )² to both sides

x² + 2(- 6)x + 36 = - 32 + 36

(x - 6)² = 4 ( take the square root of both sides )

x - 6 = ±
√(4) = ± 2 ( add 6 to both sides )

x = 6 ± 2

Thus x = 6 - 2 = 4 or x = 6 + 2 = 8
