4 post covers 48 ft of fence

1 post will cover 48/4 ft of fence (dividing both side with four)(48/4 = 12)

=> 1 post will cover 12 ft of fence

Given that the Total length of fence is 3,000 ft

no of post required to cover total length of fence will be

= Total length of fence / length of fence 1 post covers

substituting value of Total length of fence(3000 ft)

and length of fence 1 post covers (12 ft)

we have

no of post required to cover total length of fence will be

= 3000/12
