Explanation:

Because 2/3 and 1/9 can't be added just like that, you have to find a common denominator, which would be 9. Multiply the 3 by 3 to get to 9, so you multiply the 2 and 3, so it turns into 6/9. You don't have to convert the 6. Then you add the 6 6/9 with the 1/9 and get 6 7/9.
