Examine the system of linear equations: y-3x = -2 and y = 4. Which is a solution of the system of equations?

B. (2,2)

Keep in mind this (x,y). In the question it says that y=4 so you already have (x,4) the rearrange the equation y-3x=-2 to y=2+3x (when flipping the question the negatives become positive and positive become negative). The 3x is a gradient so ignore that. However the 2 is the only number that isn’t a y or a gradient in the equation. And keeping the mind that you already were given what y is you may see that now you have your x value. (x,y) = (2,4)
