A college student wanted to rent a truck to bring some furniture up to his dorm room at college. The amount of money that the truck will cost (c) is represented by the function c = 0.85m + 19, where m is the amount of miles that the truck will be driven.

Determine the cost per mile to drive the truck as well as the initial cost to rent the truck. Select 0.85, 19, or 19.85 for each cost.

Answer:

A (0.85) for Per Mile Cost

B (19) for Initial Cost

Explanation:

C = (Mile Cost * Miles) + Initial price

This is what they used.

We just have to understand how everything works out in the equation to get the answer. We can figure out with common sense that the initial price is 19 because it is added to the end price by its self, unmodified. You can also figure out that the mile price is what it is because its not the mile price if its not being multiplied by the miles (0.85m).
