Explanation:

To work out the area of a triangle you have to use the formula


(1)/(2) * B * H

Where "B" is the base and "H" is the height

Since these are decimals, I like to convert them into fractions which makes them easier to calculate with

The base is 4.25 cm which will turn into
4(1)/(4)

The height is 8.8 cm which will turn into
8(8)/(10)

Now we use the formula


(1)/(2) * B * H


(1)/(2) * 4(1)/(4) *8(8)/(10)

→ Convert to improper fractions


(1)/(2) * (17)/(4) *(88)/(10)

→ Simplify


(187)/(10)

→ Convert into decimal
