Answer:1) x=1 & y=18

2) x=1 & y=1

Explanation:

1) if x is considered as 1, then y-15=3*1

y-15=3

y=3+15

y=18

2) if x is taken to be one, then

-2+5y=3*1

-2+5y=3

5y=3+2

5y=5

y=5/5

y=1
