A block of a weight 48.0N rests on a horizontal table. A horizontal force of 36.0N is applied to the block causing it to move. The coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.420 and the coefficient of static friction is 0.640. What is the acceleration of the block?

Answer:3,3 m/s^2

Explanation: The maximum static friction force is 30N (48*0,640) so the block is moving. Because it's moving it has the 36N force pointing the direction of the movement and the knetic energy force (48*0,420) pointing against the movement. So the net force is Fr=36-20,26=15,84N

We also know that the net force is calculated as Fr=ma:

a=Fr/m

a=15,84 N/4,8 Kg=3,3 m/s^2
