So solve equation 2 for C

C = 24 - 2 S

Subsitute in to eq 1

6S + 11(24-2S) = 120

6S + 264 -22S = 120

264 -16S =120

264 -120 = 16S

S = (264-120)/16 = 144/16 = $9

c = 24 - 2S = 24 - 2x9 = 24-18 = $6
