Key behaviors for Transformational Leaders. One key behavior of a transformational leader is a charismatic motivator. This type of behavior is expected to be a personal motivation as well as inspirational distinctive of some leaders. Idealized influence is when a leader influences the followers by making them realize the ideal future which is far better than the present. Where transformational leaders inspire trust to the employees by expressing their honesty by being reliable, single-minded and determined in quest of their objectives. These leaders exhibit high ethical values, practice them and make sacrifices for the welfare of an organization.
Individualized consideration means that transformational leaders should not just be concerned with the employees’ well-being rather they should encourage employees to develop by giving them more responsibilities, challenging work, empowerment, and mentor sessions. The fourth behavior is intellectual stimulation where the leaders communicate organization’s opportunities, strengths, threats and weaknesses to make the employees learn to view the organization’s problems as a personal challenge and try to find solutions (Lasswell, 2017).
