The distance an object falls varies directly as the square of the number of seconds it falls. If an object falls 256 feet in 4 seconds, how far will it fall in 6 seconds.

D = kt²

256 = k(4)²

16k = 256

k = 16

D = 16t²

D = 16(6)²

D = 16 × 36

D = 576
