Answer:

Writing area of poster in fraction 1 1/8 square yards.

Writing area of poster in decimal form is 1.125 square yards.

Explanation:

Given

length of poster = 1 1/2- yards

length of poster in normal fraction (a/b form) is (1*2 + 1)/2 yards = 3/2 yards

Width of poster = 3/4- yards.

  • Writing area for the poster will be whole area of rectangular poster.
  • Area of rectangle is given by length * width

Since, only length and width of poster is given it can be safely concluded that poster is rectangular in shape.

Therefore,

Area of poster = length of poster * width of poster

= 3/2 * 3/4 square yards = 9/8 square yards

  • In mixed fraction form 9/8 square yards is 1 1/8 square yards.
  • In decimal form area of poster is 1.125 square yards.

Poster given in the problem gives Dante and his two classmates 1 1/8 square yards writing area.
