Question:

x^2+5x+6=0 solve it?

Answer:

x=-3 and
x=-2

Explanation:

The quadratic formula is:

x= \frac{-b+-sqrt{b^(2)-4ac}}{2a}

For a quadratic of the form
ax^(2)+bx+c.

We have
a=1,
b=5, and
c=6.

x= \frac{-5+-sqrt{5^(2)-4(1)(6)}}{2(1)}

x= \frac{-5+-sqrt{25-24}}{2}

x= \frac{-5+-sqrt{1}}{2}

x= \frac{-5+-{1}}{2}

Hence,

x= -(6)/(2)=-3 and
x= -(4)/(2)=-2

You can also factor the quadratic:

x^2+5x+6=(x+3)(x+2)=0

OR

x^2+5x+6=0\\(x+3)(x+2)=0

x+3=0
x=-3

and

x+2=0
x=-2
