ax^(2)+bx+c .

We have
a=1 ,
b=5 , and
c=6 .

$x= \frac{-5+-sqrt{5^(2)-4(1)(6)}}{2(1)}$

$x= \frac{-5+-sqrt{25-24}}{2}$

$x= \frac{-5+-sqrt{1}}{2}$

$x= \frac{-5+-{1}}{2}$

Hence,

x= -(6)/(2)=-3 and
x= -(4)/(2)=-2

You can also factor the quadratic:

x^2+5x+6=(x+3)(x+2)=0

OR

$x^2+5x+6=0\\(x+3)(x+2)=0$
