h = (24 - 3x - x²)/(2x + 3)

Explanation:

Surface area:

2(x × (x + 3)) + 2(x)h + 2(x + 3)h

2(x² + 3x) + 2xh + 2(x + 3)h = 48

x² + 3x + xh + xh + 3h = 24

h(2x + 3) = 24 - x² - 3x

h = (24 - 3x - x²)/(2x + 3)
