Answer:

w = x + 5

Explanation:

The formula for Area is A = l * w

L = x + 2

w = ???

Area = x^2 + 7x + 10

The area can be factored

x^2 + 7x + 10 = (x + 2)(x + 5)

So now you can write the formula as

(x + 2) * w = (x + 2)(x + 5) Divide both sides by x + 2

w =( (x + 2)(x + 5) )/(x + 2)

The two (x + 2)'s cancel

w = x + 5
