Kennedy was asked to solve the equation

d/3+8 = -4 on her math quiz. She said the
answer was 12. Is she correct?
A Yes; 8-4 is 4, and 4 x 3 is 12.
B Yes; -4 -8 is 12.
C No; -4 -8 is -12 and 3 x -12 is -36.
D No; -4 + 8 is 4, and 4 - 3 is 1.333.​

Answer: C
First you have to get rid of the 8 because it is a constant. -4-8=-12. Then, you multiply out the denominator to isolate the variable. This means -12*3=-36
