A right triangle with a perimeter 24 sides of length 2x, (2x+2) and (2x+4) what is the area of the triangle

P = 24

P = sum of sides

P = 2x + 2x + 2 + 2x + 4

24 = 6x + 6

6x = 24 - 6

6x = 18

x = 18/6

x = 3

2x = 2 * 3 = 6

2x + 2 = 6 + 2 = 8

2x + 4 = 6 + 4 = 10

hight :

H^2 = 10^2 - (6/2)^2

H^2 = 100 - 3^2

H^2 = 100 - 9

H^2 = 91

H ~ 9,54

Area = (base * hight)/2

Area = (6 * 9,54)/2

Area = 28,62

Answer:

area = 24 square units

Explanation:

2x + 2x + 2 + 2x + 4 = 24

6x + 6 = 24

6x = 18

x = 3

2x = 6

2x + 2 = 8

2x + 4 = 10

The shorter sides are the legs. The longest side is the hypotenuse.

A = bh/2

A = 6 × 8/2

A = 24
