Answer: For example, Kenny gets bullied a lot because of his lazy eye. However, when poor and raggedy Rufus moves to Flint, Kenny gets excited about the new kid becoming the focus of the bullies.

Another example is when Kenny´s father explains to him that African Americans are poorly treated because of their skin color, and they want Byron to become aware of that so he can learn to behave better, and that´s why they want to send him to Alabama.
