Ok, so let's define both words...

An intrinsic motivation means the person does it to earn a reward or avoid punishment.

An extrinsic motiviation means the person does it for his/her own sake or personal rewards.

So, basically an intrinisc movtivation is just for the 1st place medal, whereas the extinsic motivation is for the joy of the activity.

Intrinsic Example: I love playing sports because my friends are on the same team as me, and we have fun.

Extrinsic Example: I pratice, and pratice everyday to get any type of medal in the olympics.

I hope this helps!
