Explanation:

Hi, to answer this question we have to decompose the figure in to a triangle and a rectangle (see attachment)

Area of a rectangle: base x height

A (R)= 14 x 5 = 70 cm2

Area of a triangle: 1/2 x base x height

Analyzing the figure, the base of the triangle is equal to 14-2 =12 cm.

A (T) =1/2 x 12 x 5 = 30 cm2

Adding both areas: 70+30 = 100 cm2
