x^2 + 10x + 4 = 0

you can use the quadratic formula to solve:

a = 1, b = 10, c = 4

x= −b ± √b^2 −4ac / 2a

x = -10 ± √(10)2 − 4(1)(4) / 2(1)

x = -10 ± √84 / 2

x = -0.42 or -9.58
