Answer:
Beauty can be defined as the spring of our lives.
Step-by-step explanation:
According to Shakespeare in his "Sonnet V", beauty is defined as the spring of life. The poet says this because it is during spring season that flowers bloom and every life on earth is full of youthfulness and beauty.
The poet draw s a connection between age and beauty by saying that beauty is not permanent. Just like the seasons, it will soon reach a point of maturity. He represents this age with winter season when one turns old and hideous.
"To hideous winter, and confounds him there; Sap checked with frost, and lusty leaves quite gone,"
is an example from the poem that portrays winter is the age of old-age and beauty is no more at this age.
