0 < x < 1

any fraction bigger than zero and less than 1.

Explanation:

8x - 1 < 2x + 5

Subtract 2x

6x - 1 < 5

Add 1.

6x < 6

Divide by 6.

x < 1

They are asking for a number bigger than zero. But 1 does not work because the answer has to be less than one. Pick any fraction between zero and one.
