Answer:

On the morning of August 6th, 1946, a bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima, Japan. Instantly, nearly 146,000 Japanese people died. At least 3 days and 3 hours later, the same event happened over in Nagasaki, with casualties reaching nearly 80,000. These bombings are the subject of heavy debates on whether the employment of the bomb was necessary. The fact that the book covers the story of six survivors and shows, through their perspective, the suffering going on around them should be a good enough clue that the bomb should have been employed differently. There were many issues present in the story, the most glaring one being the death that happened in an instant, though it warranted celebrations to the Americans, it seems. The human rights issue in Hiroshima by John Hersey is the indiscriminate killing of thousands of innocent Japanese people, which affects both japan and the United States simultaneously.
