Why might the European Allies have been more interested in punishing Germany than creating a lasting peace? In what ways did the treaty punish Germany?

Answer:Germany lost substantial territory, had severe restrictions placed on its military operations, and was forced to acknowledge "war guilt" and pay reparations to the Allies.

Explanation:mostly Germany was doing most of the worst than Hungary and austria also the European allies were more interested to punishing Germany because they they were always against German (I hope this helps)
