The length of a shadow of a building is 28 m. The distance from the top of the building to the tip of the shadow is 36 m. Find the height of the building.

Explanation:

This question requires Pythagoras. The length is the a value and the distance from the top of the building to the tip of the shadow is the c value so,

28² + b² = 36²

→ Simplify

784 + b² = 1296

→ Minus 784 from both sides to isolate b²

b² = 512

→ Square root both sides to isolate b

b = 22.627416998
