How to find slope? I'm confused on using y=mx+b

(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(2))

Explanation:

By definition, the slope of a line is the change in y values divided by the change in x values. In other words, "rise over run". If you have any two points on a line, use this formula:

(x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are any two points on a line, to find slope (y2-y1)/(x2-x1).

NOTE: (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are interchangeable, just make sure you are consistent with using a matching ordered pair.

In the form y=mx+b, m is the slope.
