(x1, y1) = (1, 2)

(x2, y2) = (4, -4)

Find the average x-coordinate by adding them up and dividing by 2:


(1+4)/(2)=(5)/(2)=2.5

Do the same for the y-coordinate:


(2-4)/(2)=(-2)/(2)=-1

Using those, the coordinate of the midpoint is (2.5, -1)
