the price of a box with 6 markers in it is 5$. The price of a box with 24 markers in it is $14. All prices are without tax and the price of the boxes is the same

Assuming you are looking for the price of a marker

let x be a price of marker and y Price of the box

equation 1 6x+y= 5

equation 2 24x+y=14

Taking equation 1 y= 5-6x

substistute y in equation 2

24x+(5-6x)=14

24x-6x=14-5

18x=9

x=9/18= 0.5

x= 0.5

y=5-6(0.5)=2

x(Price of Marker) = $ 0.5

y(Price of box) = $ 2
