The length of a rectangle is 6 feet more than twice the width. If the perimeter is 54 feet, find the width of the rectangle.

Explanation:

  1. First you would do 6 x 2 to get 12
  2. subtract 12 from 54 to get 42
  3. then you would divide 42 by 2 to get 21 which is the width.
