P = 2x + 2y + 18
P= 2x + 2y + 14
P = x + y-9
P= x + y +7

Explanation:

Perimeter (P)of a rectangle = 2( l+b)

where l is the length and b is the width of the rectangle .

Here, l= x+8

and, b= y-1

so, P = 2{(x+8)+(y-1)}

= 2( x+8+y-1)

= 2(x+y+7)

=2x+2y+14
