I NEED HELP... AGAIN. PLEASE HELP ME :)

1.Which criminal justice model do you feel is most important—the crime control model or the due process model? Why?
2.What factors do you think influence whether a police officer arrests a person or not?
3.Do you think community policing programs are useful at deterring and reducing crime? Why or why not?
4.Why do you think the selection of the jury in a trial is so important? If you were an attorney, what would you look for in a good juror?
5.Do you think the death penalty deters crime? Why or why not?

Due process model as it is much more reliable/ efficient.

Some factors may include what the person is doing/did, how they are treating the officer, if they have their needed registration/insurance on hand.

Yes, if people know their are other people watching them they will be more likely to follow the law.

The jury can have bias, I would look for one that is more likely to sympathize with my side.

No, criminals will commit crime regardless. A life sentence in jail doesn't sound like much fun either but that doesn't stop them.

Answer:

1. I feel that the due process model is most important because it is much more reliable/ efficient.

2. Some factors that may influence a police officer's arrest may include the amount of evidence, probable cause, attitude of the person and the severity of the crime.

3. Punishments are necessary because nobody would respect any law if there were no consequences. At the same time, punishment must not be the only reason for Criminal Law. Criminal Law must apply punishment and at the same time avoid people from committing any crimes by education. Crime reduction is a complex matter but punishment has been known to be a bad stimulation to reduce crime, instead, education has been far more effective.

4. The jury is important because the jurors cannot know the defendant personally nor can they be discriminatory. If any jurors dislike the defendant due to his/her race, gender, etc. Then it is not a fair trial. The jurors must base their decision on the trial itself, not any opinion of the defendant.

5. I personally do not think that it deters crime. The death penalty is rarely used unless a criminal has committed an incredibly deadly offense. Due to the fact that it is so rare, I don't believe that it deters crime because most criminals are not worried about receiving the death penalty.
