Answer: x = 16.75

Explanation:

I'm not good at square roots but if you divide both sides by 2:

(2x – 9) • 2 / 2 = 49 / 2

simplify:

2x – 9 = 49/2

add 9 to both sides:

2x – 9 + 9 = 49/2 + 9

simplify:

2x = 67 / 2

divide both sides by 2:

2x ÷ 2 = 67/2 ÷ 2

simplify:

x = 67/4

Answer:

x = 16.75
