Answer:
Somewhere on an unknown island
8th Century B.C.
Dear Penelope and Telemachus,
My dears, my heart pines for you everyday. We have fought a war for ten, long years and it has taken its toll on us.
As soon as the war at Troy was over, i immediately set sail with my men and the treasures we got from the war for home, Ithaca. We have faced a lot of difficulty and suffered great loss of life and limb.
We stopped at the Island of Cicones for supplies but we were raided and about 72 of my best men were killed.
On our journey home, we also had encounters at the islands of the Lotus Eaters, the Cyclops, the Aeolus and the Laestrygonians.
I also went to the Underworld to inquire from the prophet Teiresias how to get home, there i met dear mother who died of grief.
We suffered at the hands of the gods and mere mortals. At this moment, i am stranded at an island i'm yet to discover its name.
My dear Telemachus, i hope you have been taking care of your mother. I'm sure you have grown to be a strong, young man. Protect Ithaca, you are its future king.
To my dearest Penelope, i miss you greatly. I won't ever stop trying to come home and see your beautiful face once again.
With love,
Odysseus.
