I really need help on what to answer for this explanation it’s confusing may I get help!

Tucker was asked to solve the equation 5X +3 = 6X +1. He did not know if his first step should be to add five negative X-tiles, Or one negative unit tile, to both sides. What advice would you give Tucker to help him decide on his first step? Explain.

Answer:

tell him to add 5 negative x tiles to get all of the x's to one side of the equation. You need to do this because getting all the x's to one side will help you solve the equation because if all of the x's are on one side you can add or divide numbers to the other side and solve for x.
