Given equation,

\\ \dashrightarrow \sf \qquad-38x+43=-40x-57 \\ \\

Adding 40x to both sides :

\\ { \dashrightarrow \sf \qquad-38x+43 + 40x=-40x-57 + 40x} \\ \\

{ \dashrightarrow \sf \qquad2x+43=-57} \\ \\

Adding (-43) to both sides we get :

\\ { \dashrightarrow \sf \qquad2x+43 + ( - 43)=-57 + (- 43)} \\ \\

{ \dashrightarrow \sf \qquad2x= - 100} \\ \\

Dividing 2 from both sides :

\\ { \dashrightarrow \sf \qquad (2x)/(2) = - (100)/(2) } \\ \\

{ \dashrightarrow \tt \qquad \: x=-50} \\ \\

x = - 50

-38×+43=-40×-57

-38×+43+40=-57

-38×+40×=-57-43

2×=-57+43

2×=-100

×=-50

I do not know if it's right
