Answer:

According to the passage written by a Javanese aristocrat, the indigenous people were unhappy with the treatment they got from the Dutch officials during the state expansion.

The Dutch overlords demanded that the Javanese locals kiss their feet and knees- an honor reserved only for Javanese rulers.

The Javanese people felt loath doing this for a foreigner but they were compelled to do so anyway.

The general feeling and reaction of the people was distaste, unhappiness and anger.

The Dutch masters also as a form of subservience refused to speak to locals in Dutch, even though they knew they could speak Dutch very well, instead, they spoke to them in broken Malay.
