Answer:

114.4

Explanation:

using pythagorean theorem can help you find more than just the hypotenuse.

you can solve for any variable... a, b, and c

pythagorean theorem is: a^2 + b^2 = c^2

plug in your variables. remember that c represents the hypotenuse, so it must go there.

28^2 + b^2 = 110^2

784 + b^2 = 12100

-784 -784

b^2 = 11316

now take the square root of both...

b = 106.376689

round to nearest tenth.

b = 106.4

*** dont forget about the extra 8 feet! ***

just add 8 to your solution

114.4

i hope this was helpful!

stay safe!

Answer:

≈ 106.4

Explanation:

Pythagorean Therorem:
a^(2) + b^(2) = c^(2)

Equation:
28^(2) + b^(2) = 110^(2)

784 + b^(2) = 12100

-784 -784

b^(2) = 11316

\sqrt{b^(2) } = √(11316)

= 106.3766892

Round to nearest tenth:

≈ 106.4

Hope I helped :)
