What type of conventions error is present in sentence 8?

(1) At the end of "Sonny's Blues," Sonny invites his brother, the narrator, to a nightclub to watch him perform. (2) At the nightclub, the narrator meets Creole, a Jazz Bassist. (3) Creole’s words and actions immediately shows that he supports Sonny. (4) When Sonny arrives, Creole greets him by saying, “I been sitting right here... waiting for you." (5) For someone like Sonny, having a person like Creole to "wait" for him and make sure that he is okay is a huge benefit. (6) After Creole is introduced to the narrator, he tells him, “You got a real musician in your family.” (7) This support of Sonny's talent as a musician stands in contrast to the way that the narrator fell out of touch with Sonny until only recently. (8) The narrator realized that he has not offered Sonny the consistent and compassionate level of support that Creole had.
