Explanation:

Area is equal to length * Width so you have to find what two expressions multiplied together equal the quadratics equation.

There are several ways to do this, but i would recommend factoring the expression. To do so, find factors of the third term that when added, equal the second term.

In this scenario

X^2 + 31x + 30

find factors of 30:

1,30

2,15

3,10

5,6

In this scenario it is clear that 1 and 30 are the two factors that equal 31

the final answer would be written as

(x+1)(x+30)

and when these two terms are multiplied out together you get your initial area
