Explanation:

3x + 7 (3x - 11) = 67

PEMDAS

7 times 3x= 21x

7 times 11= 77

3x+21x+77=67

add the like terms together (only the ones that are on the same side of the equal sign).

3x+21x= 24x

24x+77=67

if you need to cancel out 77

what you do to one side you have to to the other

77-77= 0

67-77= -10

24x= -10

then you divide both sides by 24x

24x/24x= x

-10/24x= .41666666666

x= .41666666666
