Explanation:

We will put this in y=mx +b form so first calculate the slope

m= (-4)-(-5)/(-4)-(-6)

m= 1/2. So y= x/2. +b

Now just substitute the x and y values of either given point to calculate b

I will use (-4,-4)

-4= (1/2)(-4) +b

-4= -2 +b

b=-2

So equation is y= x/2 -2

Answer:

Explanation:

Equation of line in slope- y intercept form:

First find the slope.

\boxed{Slope= (y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)}

\sf = (-4-[-5])/(-4-[-6])\\\\=(-4+5)/(-4+6)\\\\=(1)/(2)

Equation:

y =(1)/(2)x+b

Choose any point and substitute the x and y value in the above equation.

(-6,-5)

\sf -5=(1)/(2)*(-6) + b\\\\-5 = -3+b\\\\-5+3=b\\\\-2 = b

Equation:

y = (1)/(2)x - 2
