Please Help me, I only have today to do this. I don't want to fail

A few times a month, Janice described the moon she saw in the sky. Her observations are recorded in the following table below.

Date Appearance of Moon
August 10 Full sunlit circle
August 18 Left half lit circle
August 23 Less than half lit

Part 1: Use complete sentences to explain why the appearance of the moon changes from August 10 to August 23. What is the name for each phase she saw?

Part 2: Which two phases of the moon are expected to come immediately after the phase on August 23?

Part 1:

The Moon doesn't emit (give off) light itself, the 'moonlight' we see is actually the Sun's light reflected off the lunar surface. So, as the Moon orbits the Earth, the Sun lights up different parts of it, making it seem as if the Moon is changing shape.

She saw "Full Moon", "First Quarter", and "Waxing Crescent).

Part 2:

The next two phases of the moon are "New Moon" (no moon) and "Waning Crescent" (the left crescent, where the left part of the moon is seen, not the right).

PS: Sorry that this is so late, but at least other people might be able to use this :)

Answer:

Part 2: for waxing crescent first quarter and waxing gibbous

for waning crescent new moon and waxing crescent moon

ForPart 1: As the moon revolves around Earth each month, it reflects the light of the sun. August 10: Full moon August 18: Third quarter August 23: Either waxing crescent or waning crescent idk. August 23 I'm not sure which crescent so choose one of them also use spinbot so you don't copy word from word and get in trouble hope this helps ;D
