if both trips take the same time. Their arguments are as follows:
Student A. "The average of 10 and 30 is 20. In the afternoon, Larry's speeds of 10 m/s and 30 m/s average to
20 m/s, which means that Larry has the same average speed for both trips. If the same distance D is
traveled with the same average speed, then the trips take the same time,
Student B. But you can only average two speeds together like that iſ an object spends the same time traveling
at each speed. In the afternoon case, Larry spends more time traveling at 30 m/s than at 10 m/s, so
the average speed for the afternoon trip is closer to 30 m/s than to 10 m/s. If the average speed in the
afternoon is more than 20 m/s, then the morning trip takes longer
