What is the importance of this crossing -over in the inheritance that takes place in your family

Crossing-over helps create diversity. It makes for what we call recombinant chromosomes. Thanks to crossing-over, siblings have the same DNA as their parents, but the DNA is shuffled so they don’t all look identical. Except if you’re identical twins, which case is me.
