The height of a trapezoid is 1/4 the sum of the lengths of its bases. The height is 2 1/2 feet. Find the area if the trapezoid.

(1/4)*(a + b) = 2 1/2


(1)/(4)*(a+b)=(5)/(2)\\\\a+b=(5)/(2)*(4)/(1)\\\\a+b=5*2\\\\a+b=10


Area=((a+b)*h)/(2)\\\\=(10*(5)/(2))/(2)\\\\=(5*5)/(2)\\\\=(25)/(2)

= 12.5 ft²
