Answer:

3y/4x^2

Explanation:

1. Multiply 12x and 3y^2 and you get 36xy^2 for the numerator.

2. Multiply 2y and 24x^3 and you get 48x^3y.

3. New fraction should be 36xy^2/48x^3y.

4. So now you subtract the exponents. x^1 and x^3. Subtract numerator by denominator so 1-3 is -2. So you put the 2 on the denominator since it is negative. As of now, you have 36y^2/48x^2y.

5. Now you do the same for y. So y^2 and y^1. So 2-1 is 1 and since it is positive, it goes on the numerator.

6. Now you have 36y/48x^2.

7. Time to simplify. So 36 and 48 are multiples of 12 so divide 36 and 48 by 12 and you get 3 and 4.

8. New fraction and ANSWER is 3y/4x^2
