you need to distribute the -7 with the x and the 10

-7x - 70 + 9(x - 4)

distribute the 9 with the x and -4

-7x - 70 + 9x - 36

combine like terms first the x values

2x - 70 - 36

combine like terms

2x - 106

i dont remember if you divide both by two or not

x - 53 if so x - 53 is the answer
