John had 60 video games and he sold 80% of the games at a garage sale. How many video games

48 video games were sold.

Explanation:

We know that both 100% and 60 are divisable by 5. 100%÷5=20%. 60÷5=12. So now we know that 20% of 60 is 12. We need 80%, however. To get from 20% to 80%, we just multiply by four. 20 × 4 = 80. But what we do to one side, we must do to the other. 12×4=48. So 80% of 60 is 48.
